About this course
Zilker Park is where Austin learns to play disc golf. Wide-open fairways with the city skyline as your backdrop, gentle distances, and baskets that forgive the wobbly first throw. It's the course every local recommends to a friend picking up a disc for the first time.
Don't let the beginner label fool you — the wind coming off Lady Bird Lake turns holes 7 and 15 into genuine challenge. And on a Saturday afternoon, you'll be sharing the park with every other disc golfer in town, so pack patience along with your putter.
Free to play, dawn to dusk, with plenty of parking near the Zilker Botanical Garden entrance.

Perfect first course. Brought my kid here for his first round and we both had a blast. Flat, open, and the views of downtown are unbeatable.
Iconic Austin spot. Not the most challenging layout but the wind off the lake keeps it interesting. Gets crowded on weekends — go early.
My go-to quick nine after work. Free, walkable, and you can grab a taco on Barton Springs Road after. Can't beat it.
